Today I am posting up another Glorantha image to share. This time it is of the Epic Kalikos Hero Quest. For more information you will have to get the guide but the long and short of the story is that this is an epic quest to the edge of the world which is crucial to the survival of Glorantha.
For more information on Glorantha etc. You can check out the Glorantha group on Google + which is very vibrant and full of all kinds of information including some of my rough sketches and process pieces for these images.
Cheers!
Fascinating, love this kind of stuff
ReplyDeleteThanks Wally!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite illustration from the Guide to Glorantha (2 volumes full of wonderful art). What's the medium used?

ReplyDeleteHi Andrew,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you like this piece. I started a "Making of Article" for this image but I never got around to finishing it but perhaps I should and that should answer any and all questions you may have. As for the medium, this image was all digital.
Cheers!
And there was I thinking it was analogue. I guess I'm showing my age here by writing that. I'm assuming that Jeff Richards' caption was the art direction for the piece- from interviews he's gone for the lengthy art direction, but from the basics- digital sketching?
ReplyDeleteLol Analogue.. What is that? I actually only made the switch to digital about 3-4 years ago and up until then, I was all "traditional" Media. I use a Wacom Cintiq so I'm still sketching but instead of paper, I am drawing directly on the screen. The principals are all the same, just the tool is different. I'll post up the complete art direction and process article soon and then you can see for yourself how in depth Jeff's Art Direction can get ;)
ReplyDeleteCheers!
