Russian Army Woman

Today's installment. A little better than yesterday. This time in Photoshop. I'm trying to keep these in or under 30 min each. Also we have a page of sketchbook studies  and warm ups etc. Just trying to stay loose and keep the skills sharp.

30 Min or So . This Time in Painter
Head Sketch #2

Wednesday, August 29, 2012

So I came across this guy's Blog and pretty much every day he does a quick portrait painting. His name ( his web one) is BTANK and you can find his blog here http://ninnjapizzaburgers.blogspot.ca/

Anyways, I admire his JC Leyendecker Esq style and his dedication to do these almost daily. So with that in mind, I hope to incorporate a similar practice into my daily routine. So with that in mind here we go with my first go. I think I popped this one off in less than 30 minutes. We're going for both speed and accuracy.

So I saw this girl at the local coffee shop working on her laptop and for some reason, I thought her outfit was totally outrageous. I mean who wears bright orange hot pants and pirate boots to the Good Earth just to sit and work on a paper or something? Not that I minded.... Anyways, I put together this sketch/image of a Gal because she inspired me. I plan on doing more Cheesecake character designs like these so stay tuned.
Cheers!

More Work!

Finally some of the work from the past 6 months is going to print and I am starting to be able to publish them. Today I am posting up some card art for AEG's Nightfall game that I did for them back in March.
Cheers!

Glorantha

Hey all, It has been awhile I know but June/ July were very busy months and I'm only now starting to get back on track with updating my blog etc. I've had some pretty exciting gigs including a Cover assignment for AEG and some Interior work for Green Ronin's upcoming Night's Watch module for their Song of Ice and Fire RPG Campaign Setting. Once the products go live I'll be able to post them here but in the meantime, I did get permission from my AD Jeff Richard over at Moon Design Publications to post some of my recent work for their Glorantha RPG setting. When I started this assignment I hadn't realized that the characters and setting had been around for over 30 years and it was really cool to be able to take a stab at putting my own stamp on this classic IP.
 So without further Adieu..
