Riley Method

A while ago, I came across some of the tutorials over at Freshdesigner.com by Chris Legaspi.I was intrigued by the process (I too enjoy drawing with a ball point pen) and decided to take up the challenge by the author to do 1 drawing a day for 30 days. So, I did my 30 days and this is what I came up with. For more information about what I am referring to, follow the link above. Sorry for the brevity of my post here but something is better than nothing.
Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Thanks Chris for Stopping by! I appreciate you taking the time to visit my blog and I apologise for not responding sooner.

Let's see if I can't put together a proper response...
How do I feel?: I feel good. I do think there has been an improvement in my work but sadly i have had little time as of late to demonstrate it. What I appreciated the most out of the excercise was the use of mid tones and the act of " quick sketching". I have always admired artists who can bang out an accurate drawing in minutes and I feel that this exercise teaches one to achieve that effect. Thanks for posting the exercise Chris and I'll be trying your other ones in the future. I was hoping that perhaps you might have some insight on what I have done? Maybe you have some suggestions or observations that could help me to improve?
    Best regards,

    Mike

  4. Hi Luis,
I used reference for each of the studies, just like Chris Legaspi specified in his 30 day challenge. Are you thinking of giving it a shot?

  5. Check out Chris Legaspi who posted the first comment. He has a couple of tutorials up on his sites that explain it better than I can. Basically is a drawing technique.
